Foreign Language

 

Spanish I:

Prerequisites: none

An introduction to the Spanish language. Students learn basic vocabulary, verbs, grammar and culture. In addition, students work on acquiring major skills in foreign language learning: Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking and Comprehension. Students read a basic Spanish novel.


 
Spanish II:

Prerequisites: Spanish I

A continuation of the skills acquired in Spanish I, with a more in-depth study of the content. Students make presentations in Spanish.  They also read a Spanish novel.


 
Spanish III:

Prerequisites: Spanish II

Students further their study of the concepts learned in the beginning levels of Spanish and apply the skills that they learned in real-life situations. They read a Spanish novel, create dialogues, write papers, and prepare presentations in Spanish.


 

Spanish IV:

Prerequisites: Spanish III

Students acquire knowledge of advanced concepts in Spanish and apply their skills in various situations. They watch a Spanish telenovela, read a Spanish novel, create dialogues, write papers, and prepare presentations in Spanish.

 


Rosetta Stone:

With the addition of the Rosetta Stone program, students can choose ANY foreign language that they would like to learn. These courses are online, individually paced, and hosted in the Lutheran High School Language Lab. Students can seek assistance from the Language Lab Instructor as needed.
