The Lutheran High and Tri-City girls basketball teams are joining together in the fight against pancreatic cancer. On Columbus Day weekend, Dennis Tarr, a fan of both teams, passed away from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Dennis had kids who played basketball at Tri-City and has grandkids as well as nieces and nephews who play at Tri-City, Lutheran High, and other area schools. To honor him, Lutheran High and Tri-City will be hosting "Playing in the Purple" Night on Monday, January 22nd at Tri-City. All fans are encouraged to wear purple to show their support for the event. There will also be a half court shot contest at halftime of the Varsity game that will be $1 per shot. All of the proceeds raised will be donated to cancer research.
The J.V. game begins at 6:00 pm with the Varsity game to follow.
