  1. Today, we are on the hour-long morning assembly schedule.  Leadership teams will meet in the Chapel in the same seating as last week.

Freshman Josh M., boys baseball. He pitched very well in 4 innings with 7 strikeouts,  2 earned runs, and 2 walks. Era at 3.50. Very good for freshman vs. a very good New Berlin team.

  3. The Spring Musical is next Friday through Sunday.  Our drama students have worked very hard over the last few months preparing for these performances.  Please be sure to reserve your seats today.
  4. NHS will meet on Monday during break in Mrs. Quigg’s classroom.
  5. Publication class will start taking pictures during 3rd hour and break on Monday.
  6. Lost and Found will be on the bench in the great hall after announcements tomorrow.  If you will not be here, be sure to check the Lost and Found in the office today. Anything left on the bench at 3:10pm tomorrow will be donated.

Soccer Update:

The Crusaders took on Taylorville in the championship game of the Crusaders Classic. Taylorville took a 1-0 lead, with the Crusaders getting the equalizer on a goal off a free kick by Senior Cara A.  With 20 minutes left, Taylorville scored. The Crusaders turned up the pressure and played strong, but could not find another goal.

Tonight’s Activities:

Baseball -  the game against Decatur has been postponed.  We are waiting to hear about playing against New Berlin.  More to come during 7th Hour announcements.

  10. Remember to bring in donations for the Springfield Pregnancy Center!  The donation box is in the hall outside the school office. Items include, but are not limited to, diapers, baby wipes, sippy cups, baby spoons, as well as deodorant and toothpaste to help mothers and their babies as they work through a very difficult time in their lives.  Please consider blessing these families!
  11. Lost and Found will be on the bench by the wall of windows on FRIDAY ONLY.  If you will not be here on Friday, be sure to come check the Lost and Found bucket in the office BEFORE FRIDAY.  Anything left on the bench at 3:10pm on Friday will be donated.

Soccer Update:

On day 2 of The Crusader Classic, LuHi won 2-0 against Athens. Great passing by the Crusaders got them on the board first. Junior Emily S. scored on an assist from Freshman Allison B. LuHi played a strong second half.  With about a minute left in the game, Emily played a pass to Senior Julie E. who sent in a wonderful cross that Junior Britta B. finished. The defense, with Junior Mikayla S. in goal, posted the shutout. Come out to today’s championship game at 4pm to cheer on the Lady Crusaders.

Community Service Hour Opportunity:

Royal Family Kids Camp, a one-week summer camp for orphans who have been through the worst of the worst, is in need of counselors; the biggest need being male counselors.  The camp runs from August 4-8 (overnight stays are required) and is located near Decatur. If interested, see the flyer on the bulletin board in the Learning Commons or outside the Guidance Office.

Girls Soccer Update:

In the opening game of the soccer season and the Crusader Classic Kickoff, Lutheran defeated Beardstown 3-1. Emma S. opened the scoring 59 seconds into the game off an assist from Britta B.  Emily S. then scored off a corner kick from Julie E. to put the Crusaders up 2-0 at halftime. Allison B. closed out the home team’s scoring off an assist from Cara A. It was a strong first game. The Crusaders return to action today at 5:15 vs. Athens.

Boys Baseball Update:

The Crusader baseball team fell 11-2 last night to a very good Pawnee team; however, the team showed marked improvement from last year. We’re looking forward to a good season!

Track Results:

The girls track team traveled to Charleston Saturday for the 35th Annual “Charleston Invitational Track Meet”.  Elizabeth E., Abigail B., Laura B. and Rebekah G. performed as true Crusaders in giving a solid performance. Congratulations girls on a job well done.
