She worked in retail and for the Xerox Corporation early in her career.  She was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young and then returned to work at Trinity Lutheran School where her children attended grade school. In 1993, Mrs. Gilman created the Lutheran High Summer Camp program and joined the Lutheran High School office staff in 2000.

Mrs. Gilman loves her family and the time they spend together. She loves baseball and the Chicago Cubs, cooking, reading, sewing and attending LuHi sporting events. 

Mrs. Gilman's favorite Bible verse is John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
